Advice and Information line
Our specialist staff team are available during the week to be a listening ear, provide advice, share information and send resources to help you, if you are a young person, or help you support a child in your care, if you are a parent, career or professional.
You can call or email us on support@balloonscharity.co.uk or 01392 982570. Our staff will speak with you to understand your situation and can offer advice on things that could help, or on how to talk to children about the bereavement, and ways to support them. If Balloons is not the right service for your child, or we are aware of other helpful services we will signpost you to these aswell.
We get calls from:
- Parents/carers
- 16-25 year olds around their own bereavement
- Staff from schools, colleges or the University who are concerned about a pupil/student
- Schools following the death of a teacher or pupil
We receive emails and calls around a wide range of areas including:
- Managing feelings, emotions and changes in behaviour.
- How to tell a child difficult news and answer challenging questions.
- Concerns about a child following a bereavement or terminal diagnosis.
- Seeking ideas about how to help children build memories of their loved one.

Saying Goodbye
Saying Goodbye is our booklet which offers advice and guidance for adults on how to help children and young people deal with an expected death of a loved one and how to cope after.
